    Ala Moana Beach

Finally, we went back to the beach.    First the weather, then the sewage spills kept us away.  This beach, Ala Moana, is very close to Waikiki.  Waikiki is on the other side of Magic Island.  It only took about 10 or 15 minutes to drive there.  We parked maybe 50 feet from the water.  There is a sand bar about 100 yards off shore there.  It was like a long, green swimming pool.  There were no waves--they broke out on the sand dune.  There was a small eddy.  The kids practiced swimming.  Ethan tried snorkeling.  He went a little too deep and his cheapo snorkel filled with sea water.  Don't worry, he spit it up all over our beach mat.

We stayed about 2 hours and came home.  It was nice not having to spend the whole day on the beach.  Morgan fell asleep in the car on the way to supper an hour later.  She was exhausted.  We had a great day.  I think I could be happy here if I could just make some friends.  Ethan feels the same.

    Aloha

This, I hope, will be a place for everyone to check out what is happening here in Hawaii.  I will post more pics so everyone can see what our life has become.  It really is a different world.

    Love,
